How Are We Dealing With Covid-19 Right Now

At this moment we are operating during our regular opening times, which are Mon-Fri 10:00 to 18:00 and Sat 09:30 to 17:00. However, our Edinburgh store is closed to the public.

We accept orders through this web site to be delivered or to be collected in-store, but as our shop is a bit small and won´t allow the mandatory 2m distancing, we can´t have customers visiting us. Please, understand that this is for everyone´s safety.

At this moment (24/03/2020) we have created 2 teams of 2 people, so there are 2 different people every day, and a member of one team never gets in touch with a member of the other one. In the event that we get sick, this might change without any notice

I´m in Edinburgh. Can I order and collect on the same day?

It depends on many things. For example at what time are you ordering, how many people are working, and the workload.

At this moment we have created 2 teams of 2 people. In the event that we get sick, this might change without any previous notice.

When we receive an order to collect in store, we try to deal with it first, because it´s faster and easier than other orders. Once it is ready, you will receive an email to let you know that your order is ready. Most orders might be ready to collect in one or two hours, but we would be grateful if you give us an ample margin to deal with it.

This is what you can do to make your collection process easier:

  • To collect on the same day, order early.
  • Plan ahead: order at least in the evening before you plan to collect your order.
  • Check your email spelling. If you give us the wrong email address, we won´t be able to email you.
  • Check your spam and promotions folder. Some times our emails go there.
  • Add us to your contacts list to prevent that our emails go to your spam folder. Our email address is gourmet@lasdelicias.co.uk.

I´m in Edinburgh. How will you deliver my order?

We don´t have a driver or a company car. Some of us commute by car, but some others don´t have a car. We don´t know for how long those who can drive will stay healthy.

So, if we can deliver your order with our own private car, we will give you a call to let you know. Deliveries are very easy those days, as everyone is home.

If we can´t deliver your order with our own car, then we will put it on the post, with the rest of our UK and Europe parcels. We work with Royal Mail for small and medium parcels, and with DPD for big parcels over 5Kg.

I´m anywhere else in the UK. Do you deliver here? When can I expect my order?

It depends on many things. For example at what time are you ordering, how many people are working, and the workload.

At this moment we have created 2 teams of 2 people. In the event that we get sick, this might change without any previous notice.

Currently, we are maintaining our regular shipping schedule. Orders placed before 13:00 will be shipped on the very same day. Orders placed after will be shipped on the next working day. We don´t ship on Saturday and Sunday.

Once the label is generated you will receive an email from our system to let you know about that. The courier will do the rest.

We ship our parcels with Royal Mail for small and medium parcels, and with DPD for parcels over 5Kg. Once a parcel is shipped, we lose control about how it is going to be delivered. If there is a delay, we can´t do much either.

Please, understand that the guys in Royal Mail, DPD and other couriers are overloaded with work, and taking a risk over their own health to deliver your parcel.

As usual, we pack our parcels very carefully, but if you find any problem, please get in touch with us.

This is what you can do to stay up to date of your delivery process:

  • Check your email spelling. If you give us the wrong email address, we won´t be able to email you.
  • Mobile phones are preferable to landlines because couriers mostly send texts messages.
  • Check your telephone number: if you give us the wrong number, the courier won´t be able to keep you updated.
  • Check your spam and promotions folder. Some times our emails go there.

  • If you think there is a delay in your order, please try to check your tracking details before getting in touch

I already placed an order. Where is my stuff right now?

Once the label is generated you should have received an email from our system to let you know about that. Please, check your spam folder and your promotions folder.

The courier should have also sent you a text and/or an email with your tracking number. Please check your email and text messages.

We ship our parcels with Royal Mail for small and medium parcels, and with DPD for parcels over 5Kg. Once a parcel is shipped, we lose control about how it is going to be delivered. If there is a delay, we can´t do much either. In the event that a parcel seems to be lost or undelivered, please let us know. We will handle the complaint with the courier and either sent you a replacement or refund you the whole amount.
