Garrapiñadas are sugar coated almonds caramelized untill they get brown. In Spain they are a holidays sweet that can be found everywere on Christmas and during festivals, and they are even more popular in some countries of South America as Uruguay and Argentina. Also, while in Spain they are always made with largueta almonds, in South America they can also be made with peanuts.
