Fabada is a traditional stew from Asturias, that today is served all around Spain. It is made out of beans, chorizo, morcilla, pork should and pancetta. it is a heavy dish, usually eaten in winter.
While canned foods are usually not as good as the freshly-made dish, canned fabada stew is very close to the homemade stew. On the other hand, cooking fabada is quite easy, but the beans take several hours to cook, and they need to be soaked in advance. This is the reason why most people in Spain prefer just to grab a can of fabada instead of cooking from scratch. It is a very handy dinner to warm up at work or to take with you when camping.
